Spring Wedding Season

Here's one of my favorite images from one of my recent weddings. I really loved the sky, flowering bush/tree, and castle. Lots more to come soon!

Landscape Break

Wow I've been shooting weddings like crazy lately! I spent all day Friday and Saturday shooting two beautiful weddings. While I really love shooting weddings, sometimes its great to step back and shoot some relaxing landscapes. Here is one of my favorites from the other day! I took this right here in Spencerport, NY, on the edge of the Erie Canal. Enjoy!

Mike and Amy's Marriage

What a cool wedding! I'm so lucky to be able to shoot all these awesome weddings with such cool people. Mike and Amy's wedding was one of the coolest I've seen. It was a night filled with exotic artwork, swedish fish, and of course lots of love.

The ceremony and reception were both held at Artisan Works, which if you haven't seen before is definately worth the trip. Thanks so much for having me guys! Enjoy the pictures!

Architecture Class Update

If there is one thing I have learned in my Architectural Photography class so far this quarter, it has to be trial and error. My first shot for the class turned out alright, and I got some good feedback to come back a little later when there was more sunlight on the building. The teacher also suggested I wait until closer to spring so the grass would look a little more alive. Here is my original shot, followed by the updated one. A big improvement if you ask me!

Downtown Rochester Nightscapes

The other night I went out with my cousin to take some pictures of the Downtown Rochester Skyline. We got there just in time to catch the wild colors that ignite the sky just after sundown. Here are a few of my favorites, straight out of the camera (just resized). Enjoy!

Stop, look, listen

You probably heard your teachers and parents say this to you as a kid. I bet you never thought to apply it to photography though.

Last weekend I was out taking pictures at the Pittsford Nature Center with my friend Rich and there didn't seem to be a lot going on. Typical nature scenes, a couple distant birds, nothing really to write home about. So I decided to do something not so many people do when they are out taking pictures. I just stood there and listened. After a few minutes I started to hear some rustling in the leaves near by me.

Pittsford Nature Center

I saw this small snake stick his head up out of the leaves, and since I wasn't walking around or in a hurry, he wasn't either. He let me get within 3 feet of him to take his picture. So here's an easy tip to use next time your out taking pictures. Stop, look, and listen, you never know what great photos are hiding right next to you.

Five Minute Difference

It just blows my mind how much lighting can change is such a small amount of time. I was downtown shooting some landscapes of the city lights and I kid you not, these images were taken within 5 minutes of each other. What a huge difference!

University of Rochester Campus Pictures

I have been making sure to take advantage of all this great weather we have been having in Upstate, NY. Saturday was a great day to go take some architectural pictures. Here are the rest of the pictures I took from the University of Rochester Campus. Enjoy!

Vette and Z4 Shoot

Last night was a fun one. My friend keith was up from houston with his brand new corvette. We decided it would be a good night for some car photos so we headed out to get some shots. It was a perfect night for photography, nicely lit partly cloudy skies, and a breeze. I love when you just get lucky. We were taking some photos by these railroad tracks, just when a resurfacing train sparked by. It made an awesome backdrop to some already cool photos! Here are a few of my favorites!

Underground University of Rochester

As I was wandering around the U of R campus the other day I soon found myself underground. They have an extensive network of underground tunnels that connects the entire campus. Although alot of the tunnels are stark and claustrophobic, and some are downright creepy, I would still rather walk through them then have to face the brutal winters around here. Here are a few shots from underneath University of Rochester... Enjoy!
