Candid. Simple. Timeless. - Greenville Wedding Photography
I've been questioning myself over the last few months, what is my photography really all about? After pondering this question over and over again I finally came up with three big areas that I want my photography to be about.
Candid - The majority of my photos should be candid. Catching people in their element, having fun, being themselves. This isn't to say that a little direction isn't good every now and then, but it is important to capture the true personality of the subject.
Simple - My photography should be simple. Each picture should have a purpose, a subject, without a lot of clutter and distractions to take away from it. My layouts, framing, and website should be simple and not take away from the photographs. Planning a photo session or wedding package should be simple, fun, and easy to do.
Timeless - It is crucial that photographs stand the test of time. The whole point of photography is to manipulate time, capturing a select moment forever. Our style and editing should be able to reproduce that moment many years from now. This is why we don't use a lot of the over-the-top photoshop effects that will look dated just a few years from now.
These three aspects will be crucial to my photography, business, and brand from now on. I've updated my websites with a new intro. Check it out here: J Jones Photography - Main Greenville Site or on our dedicated greenville wedding site: J Jones Photography - Greenville Spartanburg Wedding Photography. Enjoy!

NC State Hospital
A few weeks ago I had a chance to drive through UNC State Hospital in Raleigh, NC. It was beautiful, and the lighting was as well, so I decided to make a couple quick snaps. Enjoy!

House Update!
Well I'm pretty much all settled into my house (for now). I'm still lacking a bit in the furniture department but that will come with time. All the major stuff is moved in and ready to go. Here's a few pictures!

Greenville SC Nature Photos
I love shooting Nature photos. If I don't shoot them for awhile I start to feel weird until I get a chance to get out and take some. This past weekends was one of those times. So I headed out to Downtown Greenville SC to fill up my memory card with some of nature's finest. Here's what I came back with!

New Business Cards
Seeing as I am living in a totally new area, with a totally new phone number and new wedding website I figured it would be a good idea to get some new business cards. I took one of my favorite wedding shots ever and laid my logo overtop along with some basic info, and they came out great! Here's a sneak peak:

Headshots: Jorgensen Edition
It was my first real photography session since becoming a PPA member, so I had to make it good. Not only that, it was for some of the most awesome people in the world: My girlfriend Debra and her family. With her sister heading off to California soon she needed some good, creative headshots. Here are some of favorites pictures of this incredible family!

Megan and Mike's Wedding
I checked the weather the day before. It was supposed to rain. I have a theory that Megan and Mike's excitement pushed any form of precipitation away. After an awesome rehersal dinner the night before, I was primed and ready to go for their big day.
Megans awesome wedding sandals!
Thanks again guys!!
It all started out at the Radission in downtown Rochester, where everyone was getting ready. Soon after, we all headed down to the church for an awesome ceremony. Since a lot of the bridal party was from University of Rochester, we decided it would be a good idea to go there for some pictures. And WOW the pictures turned out great. Perfect lighting, setting, and people made the pictures really come alive. Then back to the Radission for a reception that rivals some of the best I've been to. Food, dancing, drinks, awesome music, they were all there in spades.
Anyways on to the pictures! Enjoy!
