For those of you not familiar with PPA, its a professional association that provides certifications, workshops, legal advice, and other benefits to working photographers. For clients, it means that the photographer is serious about providing the best quality images and abides by an extensive list of standards that set them apart from other photographers. I'm really looking forward to all the benefits it will allow me to bring to my customers, business, and skills.

J Jones Photography is now a member of PPA
I'm pleased to announce that I am an official member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA). After thinking about joining for months I finally bit the bullet and decided to apply for membership.

Dave and Erin are engaged!
There is nothing like taking pictures of good friends, especially when two of them have just gotten engaged. Dave and Erin are awesome together, and they just glow with excitement. What is even better is that I'll be shooting their wedding next year! I can't wait! Here are just a few of my favorites:

Featured: Charleston, SC Newpaper
It seems like publicity likes to come in waves. I'll go months without any sort of stuff happening and then WAM!
I've been talking with the editors of the Post & Courier (Charleston, SC newpaper) over the last couple days to provide an image to be in their paper today. This is especially awesome because it means my image of Reedy Park Falls (and link) gets sent out to the 90,000+ people that recieve the paper everyday. I guess I'm meant to be a South Carolinian (is that what you call them?)!
Here is a link to the online version of the story, and the winning image!

Featured: Cover of 2009 SC Presidents Report!
Its official! My image of Caesar's Head State Park is going to be featured on the cover of the 2009 South Carolina Association of Counties Presidents Report!
I hadn't heard of it before until they contacted me to supply the cover image. Basically the Association of Counties puts together a yearly report about the status of South Carolina. The annual report gets sent around to all the County Governments, Offices, and Admin Buildings.
If your down here in South Carolina just visit your local county/city office and pick up a copy! Here is a sneak preview of the cover:

Mary and Josef's Wedding
Every once in awhile I get to shoot a wedding that is a little different. Being a wedding photographer, I always look forward to these days where I get to shoot something a little out of the ordinary.
One of the girls wanted to show me her new necklace!
This was a really special moment between the bride and her mom... I think they both just realized what was about to happen
The coolest shoes I've ever seen
The pre-wedding prayer
The awesome bridal party!
Love those shoes!
Josef has a way with women...
But he gives all his love to this one
Going for a little boat ride
I love when people come up and take my picture for a change!
The benefits of being in the navy...
You know its an awesome speech if you can make the bride an groom laugh continuously
Awesome food!
The father daughter dance made everyone cry...
And then the bagpipes came out!!
Thanks so much for having me guys! Congrats!
I have to admit, I didn't know if I was in the right place as soon as I got there. I saw a tent... but then the guys in kilts and navy uniforms threw me off. I didn't remember ever getting told about this! Well after poking around for a bit I finally figured out that I was in the right spot!
And what an AWESOME wedding it was! I've never seen so much dancing, singing, bagpipes, or laughing before. Mary and Josef were totally in love, and they just glowed with it. Anyways, here are some of my favorites from the day! Enjoy!
