Lisa + Charlie | A Pretty Place Chapel Wedding
Lisa and Charlie didn't know they would eventually get back together. You see, they were friends back in High School, went different ways, and then several years later reconnected. It all culminated in a beautifully intimate ceremony at Pretty Place Chapel this past weekend. With just their closest family, kids, and friends present, it was a great way to kick start their new lives together.

Symmes Chapel Wedding | Patrick + Tanna
Most wedding blogs like to always talk about how everything always went perfect. The flowers were just stunning, the weather was perfect, the kids were all well behaved. Well sometimes that doesn't always happen. Sometimes the minister is an hour and fifteen minutes late, the kids are acting up, and its absolutely freezing out. And you know what? That's ok! That's what makes the wedding unique, beautiful, and... YOURS. No one ever can have that experience again, and as long as you roll with it, I'm sure you will enjoy it just as much as if everything went perfect.
Enter in Patrick and Tanna. And yes, their minister was an hour and fifteen minutes late, their kids were acting up, and oh yes... it was freezing up there at Symmes Chapel overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains. But you know what, we got though it, and they now have some pretty unique memories to start their marriage with... something that no one else can say they have.

Thanks again for having me guys! I wish you both the best in the future!

Pretty Place Chapel Proposal | Weston + Laura
I'm pretty sure proposal shoots are quickly becoming some of my favorite shoots ever. Maybe it's because I get to act like a hitman, hiding out and waiting for my unsuspecting victim... Ok that's a little creepy. But seriously getting to hide out and capture such an incredible life moment is just exhilarating.
Weston and I had been talking about his plans for a few weeks now. Pretty place chapel, tons of candles, sunset. Deb and I arrived early to setup the 50 candles spread all over the chapel. Laura was to be blindfolded, going to "somewhere special" in the mountains for their 4th Anniversary. Little did she know Weston had the whole thing planned down to the smallest details... like making sure her best friend took her for a manicure the day before (seriously what guy thinks like this!!). As he slowly guided her down the stairs and got down on one knee, Laura took off her blindfold...

Thanks so much for having us there Weston and Laura! We had a blast!!

Pretty Place Chapel Sunrise Wedding Photos | Kurt and Tina
The past weekend I was privileged to capture one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. Pretty Place Chapel at sunrise. Not only this but a Wedding at Pretty Place Chapel at sunrise. I'm sure you have already skipped past this text and are already staring at the drop dead gorgeous view. Just in case your still reading though, I remember when I first heard about Kurt and Tina's idea to have their wedding at Pretty Place. Just their immediate family, a short ceremony with a few quick photos after. I've done weddings up at Pretty Place before and it is always stunning but nothing could prepare me for how beautiful it looks during sunrise while the leaves are changing.
We arrived at Pretty Place Chapel (technically called Symmes Chapel) early that morning to catch the sky just before the sun came up, and stayed for just an hour or so after that. With temperatures in the mid 30's and a brisk fall breeze the stage was set for a beautiful yet chilly ceremony. I still to this day don't know how Tina survived in her wedding dress out there. Probably pure adrenaline. Or pure excitement and anticipation for what was to come. All I have to say is that I was good and frozen by the end of it, and I was lucky enough to be in a wool suit! Thank you both for having me capture this special intimate ceremony. It is something I know I will never forget.
