Asheville Couple's Shoot | Sarah + Chris

Who knew you could have so much fun getting up at 6am on a weekend? I tried to remain hopeful that it wouldn't be TOO bad to get up super early on my last weekend off for the next few months. And you know what, it was totally worth it. You see, I was going to shoot a couple of great friends (and fellow photographers) Sarah Rominger and her husband Chris. As if that wasn't enough to be excited about, it was incredibly foggy out when we got up, and the mountains just outside of Asheville were beyond gorgeous. With our early morning mimosa's keeping us going, we headed out to an old farmer's field to catch the sunrise and see what else would happen.

Outdoor Summer Wedding at Green River Plantation

Nikki and Aaron's wedding this past weekend at Green River Plantation confirmed for me that every single wedding I go to has SOMETHING unique about it. Even after attending weddings nearly every weekend for the past several years, I still had never heard anyone walk back down the isle to the Brady Bunch theme song. And thanks to them it's been stuck in my head for the past few days. Now to their credit it wasn't just a random song for them, they do actually have three kids each (and now 6 overall), so why not play off the theme a bit.

And of course the gorgeous Green River Plantation set the perfect backdrop to the whole wedding. Set on several acres on the edge of the NC mountains, the place is an absolute photography playground with several ponds, giant trees, and one of the oldest houses in the southeast. Crest Center Asheville Wedding | Laura + Adam

I'm gonna let everyone in on a little personal secret. I cry. At weddings. Yes, I know I'm a man. I know they aren't supposed to do that. But... it just happens sometimes.

And I don't think it's happened as much as it did this past weekend at Adam and Laura's wedding at the Crest Center in Asheville (with the exception of my own wedding). The raw emotion was just off the charts. From the first sighting, to the stunning ceremony, to incredible intimacy these guys have, it's just hard not to feel the excitement.

Of course the setting was also very fitting. The Crest Center set the perfect stage with panoramic views of the blue ridge mountains outside of Asheville, awesome rustic details, and an awesome sunset. And don't think just because everyone was all emotional during the ceremony that these guys don't know how to party... because they rock the dance floor (at least for white people).
