Suburban Subdivision Engagement Session | Amber + Ryan

It was a cool spring evening. Deb and I were on a walk around River Mist, our sublime suburban subdivision (SSS). We were talking about our days when all of sudden the thought popped in my head, "Why don't we shoot an engagement session in our subdivision!" I then proceeded to ramble on for the next 20 minutes about how the trees behind our house would be a stunning backdrop, that the dogs next door wouldn't be a problem, and that the hills would create beautiful silhouettes at sunset. She finally agreed. And just last week we did it. A full engagement shoot just a few hundred feet from our home.

Of course it takes an open minded couple to trust someone enough to shoot some of their best engaged moments in... their photographer's backyard. And that's where Amber and Ryan step in. They love to hike, they love to explore new things, and they love to have an awesome time with each other. Best of all they are crazy in love with each other, and they can't help but let it shine though to the outside. It doesn't matter if its after a long day at work or in a normal looking neighborhood in the middle of Suburbia.

Commerce Club Greenville, SC Wedding | Heather + Scott

You know what's weird? Seeing people from the local news in real life. Maybe its just me, but I think sometimes that they don't exist outside of the TV. But they do. And it's just... strange to see them in real life. So how does this relate to Heather and Scott's wedding? Well they both met while working for the local Fox News channel: Fox Carolina. Heather was a producer, Scott was a videographer, and after working together for a year and a half, they hit it off. They have since moved to Virginia but still stay in touch with all the local fox news casters, including Kendra Kent, Trent Butler, and Diana Watson. So yea, I saw all of them in real life. And it was actually pretty awesome.

The day started off at Flour Field, where we met up with the guys to get some photos where the Greenville Drive plays every year. After that we headed to the gorgeous St. James Episcopal Church that overlooks Greenville for their wedding ceremony and followed it up with their wedding reception at the beautiful Commerce Club in Downtown Greenville, SC. Downtown Greenville, SC Engagement Session | Jillian + Tom

Tom and Jillian are those kind of people that like to have a little more fun than your average human being. They aren't afraid to do something new and exciting. Like moving to Arizona. Or like having your wedding in Cabo San Lucas. Obviously these guys have fun where ever they go.

We met up in Downtown Greenville on Saturday morning, before all the craziness of Fall For Greenville unfolded. It's been awhile since I've shot an engagement session where it was actually kind of chilly out, and I missed it. It gives a great excuse to cuddle up with the person you love the most.
