Kelly and Tony's Clemson Wedding Sneak Peak

I love trying new stuff out at every wedding I shoot. Whether its a new piece of camera gear, a new type of editing, or just a totally unique situation, I always try to take advantage. Kelly and Tony's wedding this past weekend gave me one of those opportunities.

During the reception all the guests were given sparklers. Sparklers are pretty cool in and of themselves but after a little while I decided we should have a little more fun with them. How about holding a heart drawing contest? I set up my camera on a tripod, set it to a 4 second exposure and we held competitions on who could make the best sparkler heart! Here is my favorite shot from the finalist round of the competition.

Wine making 102

Finally, my wine is done. After having lots of fun getting the wine setup it is finally all bottled and corked. I filled right around 27 bottles with fresh merlot. It took a little adjusting of the sugar content, and adding some oak chips to get the flavor right, but it was totally worth it. Here are some more pictures from the last of the adventure.

Fall for Greenville 2009

Did I ever mention that I LOVE living in Greenville, SC? I remember going to Fall for Greenville last year, and it just pushed me over the edge. I had to live here.

This year was equally as awesome, with over 40 restaurants, three stages holding free concerts all day and night, a whole street of craft brewers, another street of wineries, free cooking shows, and beautiful weather! I took a ton of photos, here are just a few!

Greenville News Article

As many of you know, some of our wedding photography was published in the Greenville news a few days ago. Here's a picture of the article and a few quotes,

"Josh Jones, owner of J. Jones photography (www.spartanburgweddingphotographer.com), who has always eschewed the traditional portraits, says his business has increased tremendously with a greater number of brides seeking a more candid photo. And even the brides who are more comfortable with traditional poses Jones photographs in a more unique way, employing special lighting, camera angles and lenses “to make them look not like everybody’s wedding photos do.”

“I think that’s the main driving force behind all this stuff: A lot of Gen X-ers and Gen Y-ers, they all want to be seen as an individual, as different from everybody else,” Jones says. “So they don’t want to have their pictures look like everybody else’s.”

Kelly and Tony are Engaged!

Better late than never! After getting delayed by rain, we finally had the chance to get together and do their engagement session (just one week before their ceremony!!).

They say good things come to those who wait, and that was definitely the case this time. The pictures were just awesome! These were taken in downtown Greenville at the awesome Reedy Falls Park. I can't wait for their wedding this weekend!

Wedding Day: Jessica and Drew

It was supposed to rain. For as many years as I've been shooting weddings though, it has NEVER rained during someones ceremony. I think it's because I get to shoot some awesome couples who love each other so much that it could turn rainy day into a sunny one.

Well Jessica and Drew were one of those awesome couples. They held the ceremony and reception at this unique renovated old school-house-turned-wedding-day-venue just outside of Columbia, SC. The day was complete with chick-fil-a, breakdancing babies, and sparklers! It doesn't get much better than that! Enjoy the photos!
