Looking for a DSLR?

Looking to step up from a little point and shoot camera? The Nikon D40 is a fantastic camera that is ridiculously cheap now. I've seen them for as little as $400, brand new, with a 18-55mm lens. This lens utterly destroys anything on a P&S camera. You can't even compare them. These cameras even take SD cards so you most likely won't have to run out and get new memory! If you have never shot with an SLR before the difference is amazing, instant on/off, fast auto focus, accurate zoom, and much more clarity. They are always ready to shoot so you will never miss that "once in a life time moment". A lot of people complain about the D40 only being 6.1mp. I've printed as large as 16x20" with amazing clarity off a camera with less mega pixels than this!! When is the last time you printed anything larger than 16x20"? Unless your going to be shooting pictures for billboards this is enough megapixels for you. Run out and grab this camera if you don't have a DSLR!

Remember though, this camera is not going to help you take better pictures. This camera will give you a lot more opportunities to take great shots if you take the time to understand how it works! If you have been shooting for a little while, and know the basics of photography, its time to step it up to the next level and get a camera that won't hold you back when the opportunity arises.
